When a story is told about the Rebbe, it piques everyone's interest and arouses their
longing. Even more so when the narrator opens with the words, "This is about when
the Rebbe was in Paris...."Until recently, the time that the Rebbe spent in Paris was shrouded in mystery. Over
the years, however, many details have come to light, making us thirsty to know
even more. Our book gives an overview of the Rebbe's time in Paris, opening a small window
into the Rebbe's extraordinary personality and revealing some of "the light before
the revelation" - a subject so dear to chassidim and everyone with any connection
to the Rebbe.Who enrolled the Rebbe to study in Sorbonne?
Who paid the tuition for the Rebbe?
Who made cheese for the Rebbe in Paris?
Who sent the Rebbe matzoh and wine?
What did the Rebbe say about the famous chess picture? The book has seven sections:
Before World War II - The period when the Rebbe and Rebbetzin resided in Paris
from Nissan 5693 (spring 1933) until the day before Shovuos 5700 (1940).
The escape route from the European "valley of tears" - When the Rebbe and
Rebbetzin were forced to leave Paris, escaping first to Vichy, then to Nice, and later
to Marseilles. From there, they traveled overland to Lisbon, Portugal, from where
they embarked on a boat to New York, reaching the safe shores of the United States
on 28 Sivan 5701 (June 23, 1941).
The Rebbe's visit to Paris in 5707 (1947) - The visit the Rebbe made to bring his
mother, the Rebbetzin Chana, to the United States. The Rebbe stayed in Paris for
almost three months, from 26 Adar (March 18) until 21 Sivan (June 9).
Paris Addendum - Brief memories concerning the activities in and around the
house we called home for seven years, 10 Rue Dieu, in Paris.
"The Continuation" - The following years in the United States.
Rebbetzin Chana - Stories about her life and stories she told about her husband,
Reb Levi Yitzchok, and her son, the Rebbe.

Rebbetzin, visits to the Rebbe's and the Rebbetzin's house, the advice she gave, and
the missions she asked to fulfill.
