Yosef Eliahu Henkin, and held degrees from Columbia University. Following the family's aliya in 1972, Rabbi Henkin was appointed District Rabbi for Israel's Bet Shean Valley. Later on he provided rabbinic supervision for Yoatzot Halacha for two decades. In 2018, he was awarded the Katz Prize for Torah Literature, previously conferred upon such greats as R. Immanuel Jakobovits, R. Shlomo Goren, R. Joseph B. Soloveitchik, and R. Eliezer Waldenberg.
